Michael Todd Charcoal Detox Deep Pore Gel Cleanser Review

Michael Todd Charcoal Detox Cleanser $23 (approx UK price £13.50)

Right, going to be honest this is my holy grail cleanser and be prepared for some MAJOR big ups!

Being that a day doesn't go past without me watching you tube it became apparent real quick that Michael Todd was a big contender in the skincare market in America and the more people I watched the more I heard of the truly amazing results.  I gave it a few months and then one day decided to go online pop a trial pack in my basket and wait.   I opted for the Acne Or Oily Skin Kit at $33.  It includes cleaner, toner, mask, moisturiser, and scrub.   The perfect kit for me to get started and see what I thought and handy for travel later on.  Suffering from adult acne a few years ago my skin has never been the same and still had some scarring and nothing I tried was able to get rid.  Step in the Charcoal Detox Deep Pore Cleanser.....

This unique cleanser utilises the properties of Activated Charcoal in a base of organic aloe vera to neutralize acidity and absorb impurities while sugar cane and maple provide gentle exfoliation for increased cellular turnover. Amazingly absorbent, Activated Charcoal is widely known for its ability to effectively cleanse the skin, unclog pores and remove deeper impurities and dead skin cells.

Beneficial for all skin types, powerful antioxidants and tea tree and other essential oils provide effective anti-aging and blemish healing properties, including treatment of acne, rosacea and eczema.

Sulfate free "no tears" formula does not irritate eyes.  210 ml / 7 fl oz

Ingredients are:
Aloe Barbadensis (Organic Aloe) Leaf Juice, Coco Glucoside (Palm Kernel), Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Glycerin, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Gaultheria Procumbens (Wintergreen) Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus (Bilberry) Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C) , Beta-Carotene (Pro Vitamin A), Panthenol (Vitamin B-5), Activated Charcoal, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Phospholipids, Dehydroacetic Acid, Disodium Edta, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Hydroxide.

This perfect formula also comes in perfect packaging.  It has a pump and stands upright so no messy squeeze tubes.  One pump is enough application for my full face including my eyes.  When I first seen this in the bottle I was surprised to see that it's black!  A think black gel (from the charcoal) that melts all make up off and leaves me feeing tingly clean with no residue, tightness or stickiness.  Skincare isn't something I dabble in and haven't really tried that many different options so don't really have anything to compare it to specifically but I know in the past using certain cleansers they would leave me feeling dry and sticky and I am so happy that this doesn't!  On the first use I noticed a difference in my skin and just how it finally looked clean and brighter, and within 2 weeks I could already see my scarring go down and disappear before my eyes.  I am still left with a tiny amount but this has taken away 80% of it so can't complain.

I am almost out of my bottle which makes me so sad :( so I will be placing a new order ASAP!  I am going to *try* new cleansers to see if I get on with any as well as this.

Have you used Michael Todd?
