|Barry M Flawless Matte £5.99|
Estee Lauder Double Wear is my all time favourite (you can view my post here) so I always compare all other foundations to it hoping that one day something will come close, especially if it's a fraction of the price.
I had seen a few post's on Barry M Flawless Matte and decided to give it a try, for £5.99 I thought I didn't have much to lose.
I actually really like the packaging, it's fun and funky and the pump is the most perfect pump, you can easily control it no problem and considering the price I think this is amazing, when this is done I will be dispensing my double wear into this to make it more travel friendly and better for application. If you are pale like me and usually gravitate towards the beige ranges then you should be able to find something here for you. There are 5 shades available, Ivory, Nude, Beige, Tan and Sand. I picked up nude which is the 2nd lightest shade and a swatch in Boots looked nice on the back of my hand.
I have really oily acne scarring skin so ideally want a medium/full coverage matte foundation and with the words flawless and matte I thought this would be a winner but sadly it was not.
The formula is thick which I like and blends nicely when applied with a flat top or buffing brush but the coverage is very sheer, possible slightly medium but not full.
I always powder at lunch time on most foundations I wear but with this after a few hours I was really shiny and on a really busy day last week when I forgot to powder I had a glance at myself in the mirror at 3 o'clock and noticed the absolute melting moment that was happening on my face, not a good look, it was so bad that I took a paper towel and wiped off the "remaining" foundation from my face, I thought the patchy blotchy skin look was better than the oil slick that was happening.
I think this foundation is more suited to normal skin with little blemishes but for my skin I did not got on well with it at all.
