Cala D'Or Mallorca 2014 - Location, Outfits, Hair and Makeup/Beauty Essentials

Me and hubby are just back from a wonderful time in Cala D'or.  We went with my family and it was so nice to get away from everything and completely chill out.  Cala d'Or is a holiday resort on the east coast of Majorca consisting of three principal areas: the town centre of Cala d'Or, Cala Egos and Cala Ferrera. It offers many small, fine sandy beaches including Cala Gran, Cala d'Or, Cala Egos, Cala Es Forti, Cala Serena and Cala Esmeralda.  Cala d'Or is approximately 45 minutes from Palma airport.

We stayed in the Marina Corfu Hotel which is 3 star all inclusive but having stayed in various hotels over the years for a 3 star this was amazing, never had anything to complain.  The room was perfect for us both, nice size, clean, large wardrobe, nice size bathroom and a balcony with a sea view.  We also had a daily maid service including fresh towels and a large choice of snacks at the pool bar included in the package which not many other hotels do.  This was ideal in between breakfast and dinner if you got a little peckish.  We never usually bother with entertainment in hotels as they are usually not that great but Marinas offering was great! Lots of variety, bands, singers, stage shows, bingo etc etc.

These are all pictures taken while in the resort, as you can see the views are stunning and one morning when noticed someone had wrote a lovely message on the beach, how cute.

face essentials

I actually totally forgot to include this section oppppsss.  So these are my holiday face essentials that I used daily when I was away.

Bioderma Photoderm - Matifying Fluid SPF30 - £13.70 full size, sample size shown* - link
Having oily skin the worse thing I could do is put an oily greasy sun cream on my face, that would be a hot mess!  Escentual kindly sent me some samples of Bioderma range and these were perfect to try on holiday.

Bioderma Sebium Global - Intensive Purifying Care - £9.80 full size, sample size* - link
Don't know about you but I always break out the first few days of holiday and wearing little/no makeup and spotty skin is not something I am comfortable with so I used this little beauty every day and by the end of the week it had started to clear up the area nicely.

La Roche-Posay Rosaliac CC Daily Unifying Complete Correction Cream SPF 30 50ml - £19.50* - Link
I had used this a few times before taking on holiday and I was impressed but when on holiday is when it really came into its own.  Once I applied the Bioderma factor 30 I would then apply a thin later of CC cream and it would cover my holiday redness, slightly cover any blemishes and provide me with a much more even skin tone.  With my skin not being perfect even on holiday I still wanted slight coverage and this was perfect.  I will be doing a full review on this but as a holiday essential this is now top of my list.

Urban Decay De-Slick makeup setting spray - 30ml travel size £9 - link
I picked this up last year and love using it after powder just to ensure my makeup is all set.  I really only use this when I'm heading out for the night as nightclubs and pubs can get a bit hot inside so the last thing I want is melting makeup.

Look Beauty brow perfect kit - fixing gel
During the day I didn't need full brows so I would slick some of this on just to keep them in place and keep their shape

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - £3.99 - link
Just to set everything in place I added a little powder, not a huge amount, just to take any excess shine away.

Urban Decay Primer Potion - £16 - link
I really only used this at night when I was applying eyeshadow, keeps everything nice and smooth and ensures no oily lids.

Smashbox Photo Ready Primer - £12.50 - link
Again, I only used this at night but it just makes sure everything is nicely in place.  I am a little on the fence on this, as I is with most primers.  Still need to do more testing.

We had such a lovely holiday and hubby is already prodding me to book up again!

Are you going somewhere nice this year?
