Fake Tan Application - A guest post from Beau Bronz‏

Being a love of fake tan I am always after tips and tricks on how to best apply so when Beau Bronz‏ contacted me and asked if they could write a guest post on tanning I jumped at the chance!

Beau Bronze is the company owned by Abi-O, a celebrity tanning expert she has developed the brand to ensure that the BeauBronz products do not contain parabens and only contain the highest quality cruetly free ingredients, yay! no nasty's here!

How to Prepare Your Skin and Apply Fake Tan

Fake tan is one of those items that every woman should have in her beauty box. With a glowing complexion, even skin tone, and that all-over sun kissed look being just a few of the benefits, it can be a real pick-me-up at any time of the year.

Applying it though can sometimes seem a bit daunting, and there are those dreaded fake tan disasters to worry about too! Here, we take a look at how to prepare your skin and apply the product for best results.

Hair removal

If you want to shave or wax before tanning, make sure that you do it at least 24 hours in advance. This will give your pores the chance to close and ensure a more even finish.

A lot of fake tan mishaps could be easily avoided by exfoliating properly. Dry patches of skin can completely ruin your look, so ensure that you haven’t missed any patches. Use a large-grained body scrub or an exfoliating sponge, and be gentle. You should be removing any dead skin cells from the surface, not damaging new and healthy ones!

Moisturising is the last step in the preparation process, and really mustn’t be missed. Apply a generous amount of your favourite lotion to your whole body, paying particular attention to any dry patches, such as elbows, knees and feet.

How do I apply it?

Applying your fake tan is one of those things that require practice. The more you do it though, the better the results you’ll get. Read the instructions on the bottle, and use a mitt to keep your hands clean and create an even, all-over tan. You might find it easier to get a friend to help with tricky areas such as your back when you’re first getting started. Always make sure that you carefully wash your palms with a little exfoliator after application.

Products vary, but you might want to start out with one that builds up colour over time. Any mistakes won’t be as obvious, and the results could end up lasting a lot longer. Moisturise daily after application.

Do you use fake tan? Do you have any tips and tricks?

They also kindly sent me a Abi O Gradual Tanner to try out so will be doing a review for you on this soon!
