Xen-Tan Deep Bronze Luxe Review

Xen-Tan Deep Bronze Luxe - £21.50 - Feel Unique

This year I decided to venture out and try some new fake tan and Xen-Tan was a brand I had heard good things about so when they had a January sale I decided to pick up.

Voted Best Ever Beauty Buy by Elle Beauty, this tan is described as a natural olive toned liquid that contains vitamin E, green tea and skin-loving anti-oxidants that soothe, smooth and nourish skin.

On first impression I was a bit nervous when I seen the colour of the liquid, as it's olive based it was very green looking, but this settles as it goes on to the skin.  I used my tanning mitt to apply and the consistency of it is like nothing I have ever used before, it was a really smooth thick cream and glides on so easily.

A little goes a long way and I liked the fact that it doesn't soak into the mitt which some tans do so you can load up your mitt and do a whole arm or leg in the the one go, this alone makes the whole process so much easier and quicker, nothing worse than spending ages applying fake tan!

As this is paraben free I used it on my face which I don't normally do with fake tans, in the past I have found them to leave a streaky patchy mess but with this is was perfect.

As it's applied the colour guide immediately starts so you can see it working straight away.

Once applied I was amazed how streak free it looked, and the initial smell was so nice, reminded me a lot of Yankee Candle Christmas Cookie, a fudgey vanilla fragrance.  It was very moisturising and left my skin super smooth.    The tan will start to develop over 3-4 hours but Xen-Tan recommend to leave it on for at least 7-8 hours before showering to ensure best possible results.

Before washing it off it started to have the same familiar smell of fake tan but as I was showing soon anyway then it didn't bother me to much.

1 Layer
Here is my first layer result, I was really happy with it.  As you can see a it's a gorgeous natural colour completely streak free and not to different from the colour guide.  As I was going to a party I decided to add another layer and this second layer I didn't wash off, there was no transfer to my dress and still no streaks!  Plus this time there was no smell like the first layer so I was able to be comfortable all night (sometimes fake tan smell gives me a sore head).

After 2 Layers
On me this lasted around 5 days and faded naturally,  often with fake tans when they are starting to fade they go that horrible patchy snakeskin look which is soo not attractive, but this faded gradually and to be honest it was so effectively that by the 5th day when it was completely gone I had forgot that I had put tan on 5 days before!

You can also buy this from Xen-Tans website where you can pick your product based on skin tone and how deep you would like the colour to be.

Overall, this is the best fake tan I have ever used, it ticks all the boxes.  I cant wait to try more products from them!
